Something New!

For the first time, we will be having an author present on Friday and Saturday of our September event for a book signing. Tim Hollis of Alabama has written some quite interesting books about the early days of tourism in our area as well as Florida and a new one about Rock City. I first discovered his book, The Land of the Smokies, last year and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is full of old black and white photos (color ones, too) of the early years of tourism in the Sevier County/Smoky Mountain area. He also has several books pertaining to early Florida attractions. Yes, I know, you're probably thinking..............what has that got to do with bluegrass?.........well, nothing in particular. But lots of the people in attendance at this festival have been coming here to the Smokies for years and will find them interesting, I'm sure. Who might even see yourself in one of those old photos. Also, we have lots of bluegrassers from Florida who will get a kick out of his Florida stories. You can find his books on the internet if you need more information. Don't forget to check them out while you are here.
