Campground Progress

Here's a couple of photos of a little more progress. Joe is creating some
pull-through sites for the campground for the folks who are coming by for overnight stops year round. Looks like the grass is coming along nicely in "Mr. Greene's Corner". This is a popular "jammin' " spot during festival time.

Bluegrass Unlimited Chart

Have you seen the new BU with Rhonda's photo on the front? After you read her article, take a look at page 67 at the record chart. We have the bands who perform 11 of the 30 songs on this month's chart. And out of the top 15 albums we have the #1, 2, 4, 6, 7, and #8 bands.

Ahhhhhhhhh........Spring!

Red Dirt

After I posted the last photo about Joe's latest project, I was reminded of a great song. The group Palmer Divide has a song called "Red Dirt On My Shoes" which has been getting some air time on XM's Bluegrass Junction. If you haven't heard it, check it out.

Good Day for a Project

It's a gorgeous day today-blue sky, breezy, cool................just the kind of day to start a new project. As you can see, Joe is leveling up some campsites. Since we have been open full time, he thought this was the time to invest resources of extra time toward this end. And in doing so, those of you who are only here during the festival will benefit from it, too.
The travelers who have found us have been pleased with the facilities and most of them have never even been on a farm, much less slept out in a field. But our last overnighter was a retired dairy farmer who really enjoyed sitting outside his motorhome and contemplated how a dairy farm turned into a bluegrass festival/campground! We've met some really nice folks, many of whom have returned after that first visit.
This beautiful weather is only a fleeting moment in time as we are expecting a cold Sunday tomorrow and a little snow on Monday! Hard to take it in April. We're ready for some warm weather and flowers. The redbud trees are lovely now. Too bad their blooms are only temporary.
We hope you have a good weekend!

Spring Fever

Anybody getting Spring Fever yet? Just a few more days and Spring will officially be here. It appears that some of you are getting Bluegrass Fever as we've been getting several calls for campsites & tickets lately. If you're planning to camp in September, please let us know ASAP! We are extremely limited for campsites then. There are still several good spots left for JuneFest. But as soon as we get those brochures distributed, that will probably change.
You know, you don't have to wait until our festivals to come to Dumplin Valley. We have opened the farm up as a campground now and you can camp with us any time. It would be fun to see some of you pickers here in the new pavilion. Joe's almost finished with it and thinks it will be a good pickin' spot.
We're still waiting on the new flyers. As soon as we get them, we'll be mailing them out. If you want one, just let us know.
Enjoy this pretty weather today..............I hear the rain is on the way!
